“Now when David had served God’s purpose in his own generation, he fell asleep; he was buried with his ancestors and his body decayed." - Acts 13:36
Our lives like a vapor are here today, gone tomorrow. And like David each of us will one day be buried. Our time on this planet is similar to a hotel stay - it isn't meant to last. Because that is true, we ought to carefully consider what we're investing in during our brief stay here and whose purposes we are choosing to serve. Like David, we can decide to either serve God's purpose - even if that means standing against the crowd, or like the world we can ignore God and serve our own or someone else's purpose. Just keep in mind this life will pass quickly and soon we will stand before God, so choose wisely.
